MAKE ME CHOCOLATE

Make me Chocolate, was posted by my daughter Nakisha and I thought she has a very good point. Please pass this along to anyone who is interested in getting a life rabbit for easter.

Make Me Chocolate!
If you haven't heard of the "Make Mine Chocolate™" campaign, it is a movement started by the Columbus House Rabbit Society, a non-profit rabbit rescue in Ohio. The goal is to help educate the public that rabbits make terrible Easter gifts.Sadly, rabbits are the third animal, behind cats and dogs, that are surrendered to animal shelters. Many are also "set free" after the Holiday, where they face death and injury from starvation, predation and roads. Rabbits can live ten years or more, and require as much work as a cat or dog. They should be spayed or neutered for the best health, need room to run around every day and must have a quality diet to thrive. This Easter, I encourage everyone to think before you buy. If you still want a rabbit and are ready for the commitment, consider adopting one from your local animal shelter or rescue organization. For more information on caring for rabbits, visitThe House Rabbit SocietyA WA state rabbit rescue Rabbit HavenMore on the campaignMake Mine Chocolateand the UK versionMake Mine Chocolate UKThe Humane Society of the USI donate the sale of artwork to various animal rescue organizations in my Etsy shop- including the painting above- just click the "For the Animals" Section.

New Speakers

Hooray... I'm back to being able to listen to music again on my computer!!! This is my favorite movement out of the Bolling Jazz Suite for flute, piano, bass, and drum. I performed this suite at 171 many years ago, as well as performing parts of it in other venues as well. We're all listening to Bolling Suites again after hearing the suite for violin and piano last Thursday (There's one version on You Tube where the piano plays a wrong note near the beginning... Totally drives me crazy!)
I really enjoy the piano part on this!

Not so long ago...

I accidentally put this picture up on the teacher blog instead of my own... But.. I guess I'll leave it up! Get your darts out!!!

Here we are... back in the day of the flower children and the hippies... also a time of Viet Nam War protests...Richard Nixon was president. Many kids were being drafted and some that were evading the draft went to Canada. We were in college in the early '70's. (To hear more of my ramblings... check out my own blog.. I finally got this posted there.)

Are there any other brave souls that will let me put their early pictures up??? We can have some fun with them... If I got a few of them, we could have some fun guessing who they are.. (Good suggestion Hetty!)

Come on my brave souls... Where are you????
PS (Happy St. Patrick's Day!)

Night Visitor

I got this in an Email from Betty and she said I could share it!  They've  been feeding stray cats in the area and put up Joe's game camera to check out the activity in their back yard at  night. This shows one raccoon climbing a ladder up to the suet feeder!  I wonder what other visitors they'll manage to capture on film.

And Even More Flowers...

Received the best in show award, beautiful display with purple and white orchids.
Who wouldn't love these lillies and their scent was out of this world.

Joanne relaxing on a composite outdoor chair. Very comfortable as you can see.
